Date: Fri, 1 Sep 2006 00:19:54 -0400 (EDT) From: Louis Epstein Subject: WTC Rebuilding #471:They Ask Where We Were! It's time to write to the New York Post again (letters@nypost.com) after they've printed an article that needs reaction, about the official memorial fundraising efforts I mentioned in Tuesday's list-email. http://nypost.com/news/regionalnews/9_11__ads_airing_regionalnews_.htm tells of how the officials (and their ad agency TBWA Chiat-Day, which could use polite but firm COMPLAINTS that they donated services free of charge to such an unworthy cause) are trying to stimulate donations by asking people what they were doing when the Towers were destroyed. I date my rebuilding campaign from an email I sent Robert Young at 12:35 PM that day, saying "I hope no one questions the absolute necessity for rebuilding them...the symbolism of their destruction being successful is intolerable." A point we need to make at the conference at Pace, and at the rally in Central Park...but right NOW (I've already sent mine) we've been handed a chance to tell the Post that OUR reaction to the Towers falling was to feel the urgency of full-scale rebuilding...not to pay money for something designed to show off how gone the Towers are! Take the modest time required and drown them in a chorus! Controversy over New Orleans Mayor Nagin's remarks about WTC rebuilding continues, with the Post printing several letters, the best from Gary Taustine: http://nypost.com/postopinion/letters/a_storm_of_dissent_over_nagins_nyc_snub_letters_.htm The Daily News has a letter sayng Nagin's right, headlined "Hole truth": http://www.nydailynews.com/08-31-2006/news/story/448056p-377213c.html See you on the 111th floor on 9-11-11! -=-=- The World Trade Center towers MUST rise again, at least as tall as before...or terror has triumphed.
