Subject: WTC Rebuilding #452:TTT Announces Competition Finalists


Yes,another case of two mailings in a day...one of my first responses
to #451 was Robin Heid letting me know that Team Twin Towers had announced
the finalists in their own design competition.

This makes May 2006 tied for busiest month for this email list since
August 2002,and busiest since January 2003,according to the archives
at http://www.put.com/wtc/archive.html (the few latest aren't there
yet).

So,I have updated the Rebuilding Proposals page
http://www.put.com/wtc/inde2.html at the WTCRM site
http://www.put.com/wtc/ to include the three finalists
that were not already linked there.

The two previously linked plans are "All One All Free" by Keith Edwards
and Heid's own "People's Plan".The three new ones are "Eternal Reflection"
by Benjamin Bakas,"107th Floor" by Christophe Hebert,and Ed Schramling's
design...none of the websites for these provides height specifications
but the TTT contest rules set the heights of the old Twins as a minimum.

Public voting in this contest is done through the Team Twin Towers
site and is open until September 4th with the winner announced on
September 8th.

I will say that of these five plans I like "All One All Free" the most;
that doesn't mean I consider it the best plan possible or the best plan
that anyone has come up with or might submit to the WTCRM competition.
Certainly they qualify as "benchmark designs" under the WTCRM competition
rules and any of them would be vastly superior to the officially endorsed
garbage.

I don't know if running totals will be announced during the voting
period or not but any further developments will be announced to this
list.
