Details of Thursday's Assembly public hearing on the rebuilding process
have been released at

and you will note that "TESTIMONY WILL BE BY INVITATION ONLY".

I spoke to the aide concerned with organizing the hearing today
(Caitlin Shaheen,shaheec@assembly.state.ny.us) and she said the
speaker's list would be covered at a meeting this afternoon and
she would bring up my name and get back to me...I have received
no subsequent call.

The rules for speakers are given in the notice (statements limited
to ten minutes,ten copies of the statement to be provided on or
before arrival).Although I have not been invited to speak I intend
to prepare a statement that I could deliver.

With a limited invitational list of speakers it would be useless
for more of us to want to insert ourselves...but if anyone cares
to send Caitlin Shaheen a polite email urging that I be allowed
to speak on behalf of the long-ignored rebuilding-activist community
BY THE CLOSE OF BUSINESS WEDNESDAY MAY 17 (the hearing is the next
morning) it might be useful.

If they want a hearing that holds the people in charge of the process
to account,they can't do it without listening to those of us who have
been shut out by the officials' incompetence.

I URGE ALL REBUILDERS WHO CAN MAKE IT TO ATTEND NO MATTER WHAT...
