Subject: WTC Plans and News...


This weekend,the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
(Mormons) dedicated their rebuilt Nauvoo Temple,on the original
footprint of the one destroyed over 150 years ago...to the
original design,slightly modified.

Today,New York Governor George Pataki pledged to a meeting
of WTC victims' survivors at the Javits Center (sponsored by
the Give Your Voice group),"we will never build where the
Towers stood".

(this is reported at the ny1.com website).

Ex-Mayor Giuliani made remarks about how he wants history
to show that we did not cover over the event but recognized
the magnitude and respected the site as a graveyard.

We must NOT let history show that we bowed to the destruction
of the Twin Towers!!!

It is very likely that new Towers will need to be built off
the original footprints,but the mad rush to promise the eternal
sanctity of Osama bin Laden's wish that those footprints be empty
must be unmasked as the cowardice it is rather than the sensitivity
it pretends to be.Will we take longer than the Mormons to heal our
loss?

Monday is the day set for the formal announcement of the six
Phase I options for development,we will need to evaluate them
closely and be prepared with our reactions to them...either

or delivered otherwise.

Today is three weeks until the Listening to the City II
event at the Javits Center...IF YOU CAN SPEND JULY 20TH
THERE AND HAVE NOT REGISTERED...REGISTER!!!
And get any pro-Towers friends who can make it to do the same!
Remember,the people who bother to get there to be heard are
the ones who will be heard.

I had a false alarm recently when someone told me she had
gotten an email saying her registration had been cancelled
without explanation,but it turned out she had a duplicate
registration that had been deleted and is still registered.

The Civic Alliance has yet to post minutes of the June 24th
meeting.

From what indications there are(mainly the reported WPIX
"scoop" story),there are two options among the six that are
trending toward what we want,but not there yet...lesser-sized
twin towers,and one very tall,but not specified as to how tall,
tower.We will have to learn the details as soon as revealed,
and concentrate our input on urging that modifications in the
direction of the original Towers be made to one or both of
these while dismissing all other options as inappropriate
surrenders to the killers' wishes.
