Subject: IMPORTANT: WNBC Freedom Tower poll needs vigorous response

Louis,

Please send out a notice on the WNBC Freedom Tower poll.

Since I e-mailed you last night, only 22 new responses have been
registered in poll at http://www.wnbc.com/news/2872234/detail.html -- the
number is now 249, up from 227.

The breakdown is

61% I like it (152 votes)
31% I prefer something else (78)
8% I don't know (19)

---------- End forwarded message ----------

Since he wrote this there have been only two more votes,
both for "I prefer something else"...LET'S ADD MORE!

Well over a thousand people get this mailing,we can make
a real difference in the visible numbers.

Scientific polling is another matter, but we are pursuing that
angle as well, looking to show popular support rests with new Towers
and not with the official plans.

Derek Turner of WTC2002 emailed me earlier opining that Pataki will
ignore any polls, but we can not make further evidence that our opponents
deserve to lose a reason for letting them win!

I note that the WNBC news story above leads off with the promise of
a 1500-foot observation deck on top of the cagework or at the base of
the spire of the FT (I am sure it would have to be much smaller than
the old WTC observation deck, given the reduced footprint of the tapered
FT and especially of the spire). This is also the main point of the story
http://www.nypost.com/news/regionalnews/18975.htm

Childs also says in the WNBC story that he's trying to make the
Libeskind slanted roof safe from ice falling off and injuring
people below.Another "buildability issue" on that bizarre structure.

Note that 1500 feet is taller than the old observation deck,
or the CN Tower's 1465-foot "Sky Pod" that is today's tallest
observation deck, but shorter than the top levels of two buildings
now under construction in China.

Anyway...we have to stay involved, active, and expressive of our
views in every medium open to us!

The World Trade Center towers MUST rise again,
at least as tall as before...or terror has triumphed.
