Subject: WTC Rebuilding #220:Rally Permits Are Go,Post Blasts Libeskind Again


Permits for our Rally June 28th are advancing through the approval
process.(Rain date is June 29th).

Once more,the time is 11 AM and the place is the Broadway sidewalk
adjacent to City Hall Park south of Murray Street,we generally set up
to speak opposite the Woolworth Building.

The main thrust of our speeches will be (besides what SHOULD be built)
that the Libeskind plan is a problem rather than a solution.

The Post continues to blast Libeskind,just in the last couple of days:

office towers on the site(having never designed an office tower in
his life).He is counting on his supposedly vast public support
(noted as 20% in that recent poll) to make the PA yield.

reports fractures in the Civic Alliance....with member groups
quitting over Yaro's blasting efforts to improve the Libeskind plan.
The groups that are pulling out tend to be "connectionists" rather
than restorationists,but the more fractured the opposition to doing

not a restorationist but opposition to doing the wrong thing
may hopefully lead to something better than now planned.

Diane Horning.

who came up with the sign-away-all-rights-to-your-suggestion-
or-we-will-never-look-at-it policy) as new president of the
development corporation(replacing Tomson).Not sure what
Bloomberg got in return for his OK.
