Subject: IMMENSE support for rebuilding WTC Towers

I am sending this to 374 email addresses of people I've
identified as sharing my strong support for rebuilding the
World Trade Center Towers to at least their former height.
(Many others have left web postings with no addresses attached).

I realize the long list is off-putting,but it's partly my point;
that there are SO MANY of us,despite the people like Whitehead
and Silverstein trying to imply that it's been decided by one
and all that it's impossible or inappropriate or unaffordable
to reconstruct and we need to take to heart the lessons from
Uncle Osama.

Some of you I've written before on this topic,
a varying number of times.
I've tried to filter out bogus addresses(until I send this
I won't no how many addresses might bounce),multiple addresses
for the same person(if you get multiple copies tell me),
and anyone who's wanted off my list has always been promptly
removed on request.
I have also tried to filter out anyone whose support for
rebuilding was too vague(not making clear that nothing shorter
is acceptable),or for a too radically different concept
(or largely empty shells or Tower-sized tombstones).
In any event I don't write often,make no non-WTC-rebuilding-related
use of the list, and don't make it available to others who might.

I've been campaigning for the reconstruction of the Towers
since virtually the day they fell...I hope you're aware of the
organizations and websites that have sprung up to campaign for
the Towers to rise again:
http://www.rjdbiz.com/rebuildwtc/
http://www.buildthetowers.org/
http://www.buildanewwtc.org/

I am not specifically part of any of these organizations,
but recommend their sites and links as resources.

I know that among you there are represented a spectrum of
opinions within the general issue of new Twin Towers being needed:
from exact duplicates "down to the last toilet" to wanting either
a new location WITHIN the former WTC area,a new design, additional
stories,or some combination thereof.

Speaking for myself,my ideal preference would be towers on all
or part of the original footprints,a similar design modified as
needed for much stronger construction, and significant but not
substantial additional height...but twin towers of any design
that were not any shorter than the old and were located within
the WTC area would satisfy me.

(One or two of you were even talking about mile-high designs...
for me credulity gives out around 2121 feet, which would make
the towers the tallest structures of any kind ever built,
and I'm more commonly contemplating the 1400-1700 foot range).

Advocate whatever specific solution you think best...but make
your voice heard.
The Lower Manhattan (Re)Development Corporation
(Recently they have been dropping the "re",I think in an attempt
to bias people against the idea of restoration of what it should
be their primary obligation to restore) is at 1 Liberty Plaza
(a taller building that replaced the old Singer building,
one of the tallest buildings of its time, when IT was demolished),
New York,New York 10038.
Their email is lmdc@empire.state.ny.us
and their telephone number is 212-225-3500.

The Port Authority of New York and New Jersey owns the site;
their web address is http://www.panynj.gov/ .

Other important contact links can be found at the reconstruction
sites mentioned above...if you are a New Yorker,by all means
write to senator@schumer.senate.gov and senator@clinton.senate.gov
(including your postal address if you want a response).
Your State legislators can be looked up at
http://www.senate.state.ny.us/ and http://www/assembly.state.ny.us/

If you're in another state, find your Senators at
http://www.senate.gov/ and Representatives at http://www.house.gov/
and if you're a foreign admirer of our beloved Towers,
you can still go to http://www.whitehouse.gov/ and appeal to
the President.

Our silence can lead to symbols of shame standing for future
generations...though if such are built,I will not be ashamed
to go on campaigning for their replacement by huge twin towers!

The World Trade Center towers MUST rise again,
at least as tall as before...or terror has triumphed.
